Westside Remodeling added a full 600-square-foot second story to a single-story home for a homeowner in the Wood Ranch neighborhood of Simi Valley, California, adding a new bedroom, bathroom, and staircase. The project also refreshed the entire exterior with new garage doors, a modernized stucco finish, a new roof, and new windows — turning a dated single-story ranch home into a two-story home with a fully updated look.

Why the Client Wanted This Remodel

The home was a single-story ranch that had outgrown the family's needs — they wanted more bedrooms and another bathroom, but preferred to stay on their existing lot rather than move. Adding a full second story was the way to gain that space without changing the home's footprint, and the project was paired with a full exterior refresh so the home's look would match its new scale.
