Open-Concept Primary Bathroom Remodel in Chanteclair Thousand Oaks, CA
Westside Remodeling combined a closed-off shower and tub room with a separate vanity room into one open primary bathroom for a homeowner in the Chanteclair neighborhood of Thousand Oaks, California. The redesign added a dedicated water closet, custom Dura Supreme cabinetry, a freestanding solid-surface tub, and improved natural light throughout — creating a single, connected primary bathroom.
Why the Client Wanted This Remodel
The primary bathroom was split into two disconnected spaces — a shower and tub room walled off from the vanity room — which felt closed-in and blocked natural light from reaching much of the bathroom. The client wanted the two areas to become one open space, with a dedicated water closet for privacy, better lighting throughout, and a design that let in more natural light from the existing windows.

Westside Remodeling worked with the client to open up the two disconnected rooms into a single primary bathroom, adding a dedicated water closet in the process. The team installed custom Dura Supreme cabinetry, new Brizo plumbing fixtures, a freestanding solid-surface tub, a soft-close pocket door, marble tile wainscot detail, an improved lighting layout, and a custom motorized window treatment — with regular photo and text updates throughout construction. The client was pleased enough with the result that they began designing a hall bathroom remodel as a second phase three months after completion.
